Brookfield, in his chapter about social media, makes a claim that has really struck me.
“the organisational dynamic that people are most disturbed by is the feeling that they are powerless to change an unsatisfactory situation.” (p199)
I am aware of occasional staff discontent that is normally fuelled by some form of mis-communication, normally caused by me.
Communication is often a problem in organisations. I don’t think it’s just my schools. But the fact that it’s a generic issue doesn’t stop it leading to discontent in staff.
How can I address this? What do I need to do differently?
