A management culture in education

I am more and more aware of the influence of New Public Management in our schools. It’s everywhere. Even as I now try to challenge it, I find myself encouraging it with my staff!

The current chapter in Effective Learning in Classrooms is challenging my thinking about assessments and burdening curriculum coverage.

How do we ensure rich learning is taking place? By focusing on what matters and ‘cutting out the crap’.

Easier said than done!
