Tripp suggests that although this framework is not fixed it can be helpful to work through the questions in order. Think about your most recent day at work. Write a brief account of a ‘typical’ incident that occurred. Now try to use the questions above to analyse the incident. Are you surprised by the results?
Some of the questions in the table above are particularly pertinent if you are supporting others in a coaching/mentoring role. Make notes in your journal about which questions do you feel are most relevant in this context?
